What changes to your tours have occurred due to COVID-19?

New York City Walking Tours is open and ready to welcome you to the Big Apple. We have a staff which is fully vaccinated and providing customized tours year-round again. Our business runs in accordance with all federal, state, and local mandates; please contact us for information specific to your tour. We have flexible policies for your health and well-being. We ask that any participants who are exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19 within the fourteen days prior to your tour to contact us immediately so that we can work towards a suitable resolution.

Do you give Custom Tours?

Yes! Please contact us at 646-902-6786. Let us know what parts of NYC or what types of attractions and dates you have in mind. Prices will vary based on the length of the tour, the number of people, and the areas covered.

Can Children Attend a Walking Tour?

Absolutely! Kids are more than welcome to join. Be aware as we go through the city we will be on our feet for long periods of time.

Do you give food tours?

While our tours are not exclusive to food, we usually include a stop where snacks can be purchased. Restaurant recommendations for after your tour will be offered.

Do the tours still run in bad weather? (Rain, Snow, Heat)

With the exception of major storms such as blizzards, hurricanes or some similar event, we run our tours rain or shine. We will make every effort to avoid inclement weather by spending more times indoors or under cover. However, be sure to wear the proper clothes for the weather, and bring an umbrella if necessary (we cannot provide them). In the unlikely event that we are forced to cancel a tour, we will let you know immediately and reschedule the tour or refund your fee.

What should I wear on the tour?

Be sure to wear clothing you will be comfortable walking in for extended periods. Also include comfortable shoes, and layer your clothes in the spring, fall, and winter to accommodate for varying temperatures.

Can I take pictures on the tour?

We encourage it! Along the way, we will point out photo opportunities and will even take the picture for you if you want to be in it.

Should we tip the tour guide?

In NYC, it is generally customary to tip your guide if you enjoyed the tour.

What is your cancellation policy?

** COVID-19 Cancellation Policy ** -- In the interest of serving you better in these changing times, we are waiving deposits for tours booked for the 2022 season. In addition, tours booked for 2022 will follow a new cancellation schedule; you will have until 24 hours prior to your tour date to cancel your reservation. For tours booked for the 2023 season, the typical policy will apply. This temporary policy is subject to change at any time.

For tours not covered by the above: All tours are required to have a deposit, but we offer your money back for any cancellations more than 72 hours from the tour. Cancellations less than 72 hours before the tour will receive a credit for a future date, but no money returned. No-shows (those scheduled for a tour who simply don't arrive) will forfeit their deposit plus a fee of $50.00.
For custom and private tours, we require pre-payment at least two weeks prior, and the last day for cancellation with refund is one week prior to the tour.
